Boat Club Fishing Boats
Facilities
The Boat club offers a
variety of facilities and activities to cater for almost all water sports
enthusiasts. As part of the effort to get people in the water the Fishing
Section the following boats for fishermen and general purpose.
Rules for booking a boat:
Club boats
can only be
booked a maximum of 72 hours in advance. Any
earlier booking is simply invalid and cancelled.
Rental Costs
Rental fee for each boat is 2/- Rials, plus fuel (5/- Rials
per tank)
Fishermen Only
Al Saya'ad
This boat is 23ft and equipped with dual 40 HP Yamaha 4 stroke engines
Fuel: 2 Tank
Qarn Alam
23ft Local built fishing boat geared with dual 40 HP 4 Stoke Yamaha
engines
Fuel: 2 Tanks (Dual engines)
General Usage (Priority to
Fishermen if Al Saya'ad and Qarn Alam are both unavailable)
Masirah with 40HP Yamaha
engine
Fuel: 1 Tank
These boats belongs to the fishing section and are available for
hire by RAHRC members who are over 21 years of age.
To launch these boats
members must first acquire a Helms Ticket (license) from Jamal or
Martin (Boatman) on 675720. Please provide a resent passport size
photograph for the Helms ticket.

Below are the rules
which are to be applied to members with Helms ticket while taking these
boats out:

Booking
of these boats should be done not more than 48 hrs before and will be
treated on a first come, first serve basis. (Please inform
the boatman in advance if you require additional fuel for the required
boat)

Bar
chit with
the correct amount (6 Rials for Masirah and 10 Rials for Qarn Alam/Al
Saya'ad)
to be filled and
handed to the boatman
before launching the boat.
(If more
fuel is requested
an additional
4/-
Rials for each extra tank will be added).

There
will be no refund for fuel
-
Sign
out board must be filled and specify the estimate time of return with
contact number.

No-shows
will
have 2/- Rials charged on their
account.

The
boats must be returned before dark
(Dusk).
-
Boats
and engines must be washed with fresh water after returning from the sea.
It is your duty to ensure that the boat is returned in good working
order (checked by the Boatsman) and to report problems.

If
the boats or engines are damaged while in your possession
you are responsible for the cost of repair.

Boatmen
Jamal or Martin
(24-67-5720) have the right to stop you taking the boats out if they
think you are not capable of launching the boats on that day or by not
following the rules.
All
safety equipment for the boats are available and can be obtained from the
boat club. For bookings and other information contact either Mr. Martin or
Mr. Khalifa at the boat club.
